Beginning After The June 2021 SAT Administration, The SAT Essay Would No Longer Be Offered. I Alerted West Point That This SAT Essay Update Meant They Needed To Make Another Change To The Essay Requirement Listed On Their Admissions Web Page.

Fear. Doubt. Worry. What Do You Do When You Have To Face Them All During Your Senior Year Of High School?
It Was My Final Semester At Raritan. I Was Already Admitted To The College I Wanted To Attend, Rutgers. It Was A Really Beautiful Spring. Hey, I Asked Myself, Why Not Take It Easy Until Graduation. Calculus? No Problem. I Can Understand My Final Semester In Calculus Without A Lot Of Time And Effort.
So, I Stopped Working So Hard. After All, What Could Happen?
Well, I'll Tell You What Happened.
I Became Adrift In A Sea Of Calculus Concepts.
The World Of Limits I Had Allowed To Limit Me.
And The Calculus Final Exam Was Coming ...

I Began To Doubt My Ability To Understand The Material. I Began To Worry About Having To Repeat The Term And Not Be Able To Go To Rutgers If I Didn't Pass The Calculus Final Exam. I Started To Fear That Final Calculus Exam.
I Had Never Asked For Extra Help In School. But I Realized, For The First Time, That I Needed It.
I Asked For Help From My Calculus Teacher, Mr. Smith. At Great Sacrifice to Himself, He Agreed To Help Me. Everyday After School He Spent Over An Hour Helping Me Study For That Big Calculus Exam.
Mr. Smith Taught. I Listened. I Worked. I Studied.
The Day Of The Big Calculus Exam Came. And I Was Ready.
Preparation Had Become My Cure For Fear, Doubt, And Worry.
I Took the Exam And Enjoyed Taking It!
My Hard Work Paid Off. I Earned The Second Highest Grade On The Calculus Final. And I Learned An Important Lesson, Summarized In A Quote By Thomas Edison: Genius Is One Percent Inspiration, And Ninety Nine Percent Perspiration.
And, By the Way, Had I Added Correctly On One Little Step, I Would Have Had the Highest Grade On The Calculus Final. This Mistake Taught Me To Double Check My Work As I Went!
Hard Work, Worked For Me, And It Can Work For You! And Remember, It's Only Work If You'd Rather Be Doing Something Else.
